Mexican recipes

Overview

A collection of culinary recipes, written in various hands, that appears to be from central and southern Mexico. Most of the recipes are individual leaves of paper, but a few are bound. Included is a leather wrapper from which the recipes were removed. Most recipes are undated, but one is dated 1817. The recipes do not have authors; however, four recipes include the names of recipients. Original spellings have been used in listing the recipes in the inventory.

Official documents from the alcalde of Tulancingo, Mexico: sentences, royal proclamations, notarial register, 1 Papal bull, etc. Consists of 13 manuscripts; 143 printed items with manuscript additions. Subjects include criminal cases, resources and manufactures, governmental processes, slavery and Indigenous populations, commerce, etc.

Personal papers of Albert E. Palmerlee

Overview

Albert E. Palmerlee was a 1961 graduate of the University of Kansas. His father was Albert S. Palmerlee, who became Assistant Dean of the KU School of Engineering. This collection contains four papers on the geography and anthropology of Mexico and Costa Rica and some of his notes and photographs on the archaeology of Costa Rica.
